The Green Wave Girls & Boys Cross-Country teams, “…have started the season off strong…”, says Mr. Lipinsky, the Athletic Director at New Milford High School. The statistics have shown that without a doubt the two teams started their seasons wondrously, both squads having six wins and one loss each.

On Friday, September 29th at the Nonnewaug High School Invitational, both the Boys & Girls’ teams finished in third place. At a previous meet at Immaculate High School, the boys and girls both came out victorious, the boys scoring 37 points and the girls scoring 34 points.

Impressive runners for the Green Wave boys include junior Eli Nahom and seniors Charlie Osborne and John Adams. The girls’ squad is lead by juniors Brooke Morabito and Katie Delaney and seniors Katie Grinnell, Darcy Cook, and Sara Grudzwick. “They’ve all been racing very well this season,” says Mr. Lipinsky. Both the boys and girls XC teams have successfully qualified for the SWC Championship and the Class L State Championship. The teams are expected to make great runs, literally.
